Contemplative Man, New Orleans 2020

This beautiful man. This is truly one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. Part of a book I am working on as I drove across the United States photographing . This photo was taken in April 2020, right at the beginning of the inhumane authoritarian restrictions. This man, this true artist was still playing his beautiful music. Alone, happy, but also sad that he wasn’t filling up more should with his magic. Artists will relate.

I have a sequence about this gentleman that one day I hope can be in someones wall or gallery.

Smiling woman, Santa Cruz, Bolivia 2018

Nothing makes me more happy than a genuine smile! This photos were taken by a bus stop in Bolivia. Bolivian people are naturally very shy, but she knew I was trying to collect some interesting spontaneous street situations … she told her other lady friend to look at my camera but she wasn’t able to finish the task!

Yet, she managed to give me what I was looking for. A genuine kind and loving smile, from an older lady that has seen it all. I am Bolivian and I have felt that smile deep in my heart.

La femme dit : "Tiens bon ma fille" Paris, France 2014

I have been fascinated by this photo for years. Look at this dedicated mother, making sure her daughter is safe while the get home with fresh bread. Also her elegance is so latent it hurts. A magnificent example of humanity, strong yet still feminine and kind. Nothing excessive still so beautiful!

Man walking in the rain, Chicago 2014

This photo fascinates me. Is that Jordan Peterson time traveler thinking about on how to help us all understand how to behave? I love Chicago.

Surfers in Huntington Beach, California 2020

During the pandemic some pro-authoritarian movements tried to stop humans from enjoying the beach. Not in Huntington. That MORNING was so special and truly my heart got filled to see people out and doing the right thing. Enjoy life. I felt for a moment a sense of ease and hope.

Sadly the nefarious forces in Los Angeles managed to pull segregation rules into people’s lives later in 2021, truly stopping some from moving forward. I hope these surfers were able to enjoy their freedom as humans.
